Stephan Janson was born in France in 1957. As a child he dreamed of becoming a couturier and this dream has never left him. He credits certain characters for this passion; in order: Yves Saint Laurent, Kenzo Takada, Diane Furstenberg, and later, the many people who believed in his talent. Janson studied at Ecole St.Roch de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne. His first job in the carefree late 70s was in Paris, then NYC in the 80s, followed by a brief stint in Tokyo, before launching his own brand in Milan (1989), where he had moved for personal reasons. Work and luck brought him fantastic moments. The elegant, joyful and informal spirit of his clothes, was immediately welcomed by buyers and the international press. His collections have grown year after year, while he has also worked as a creative director for major fashion brands such as Emilio Pucci, Fay and Loro Piana. He has always remained faithful to his belief in creating timeless clothes. Today he is a reliable aide to women, and his label can be found in a few selected shops around the world. When not working in Milan, Janson can be found gardening in Northern Morocco.
